My Own Personal Journey to be TAN

Unfortunately I was not born with a flawless complexion and a beautiful skin tone. So like most pale women on this planet, I do love how I look and feel when I have a nice tan. I have laid out in the sun, got into the tanning beds and also used self-tanners. When I was around 24 I started to see the effects that the UV rays were having on my skin. After one long day at the lake, I remember looking at my face and thinking this red color and all these freckles can't be good. Then I remember looking at my chest shoulders and back and thinking WOW were did all these ugly spots come from? From that day on I was an avid SPF user, but I still wanted that healthy glow.

In 2003, I was invited to a wedding by my now husband I wanted to look fabulous. So I went out and found a new dress, and then I looked at my legs... ug, so very pasty. I hit the CVS on the way home and picked up the most expensive bottle of Self Tanning product I could find. I think it was a Neutrogena aerosol bottle. I then applied it to my body, being mindful not to put too much as I did not want to be too dark. Did not see a huge difference so I was disappointed. As the night progressed I could smell this awful smell and to my complete embarrassment it was me who was smelling terrible. I had that funky self tanner smell (one lady I know likened it to hot dogs and corn flakes broiled together). Then to top it off, I looked at my legs and feet and they looked horrible, streaky and so orange. So no more of that for me I would rather be my pasty self, then smell and look like that.

When I was told about Air-Tan, my initial thought was "NO" I hate self-tanners! Then I had it done, and I really could not believe it. I was tan, it looked natural, only took 15 minutes, and no UV damage! This was the answer to my PALE woman prayers. And now not sure how I could live without my Air-Tan.

3 great reasons to get an air-tan

While my first experiences with air-tan was based on testing both equipment and approach, a couple of years ago I decided to try it out for effect as well. I was so pleasantly surprised for several reasons.

1. It evened out my skin tone. Ok so I'm already pretty dark due my great Indian genetics. But even the minimal exposure I have to the sun has caused uneven variations in my skin tone.

2. Made my complexion pop. Yeah it gave me a glow. I got asked if I had just returned from the Dominican. I'll take that.

3. Confidence booster. Being darker made me feel more confident.

With my busy-ness levels, Air-Tan is a great alternative to going on vacation and an easy way to look & feel great.

Disturbing New Cancer Study and tanning beds in UK medical journal

Most of us agree that we just feel and look better when we have a tan. A tan can even out your skin tone, make you feel thinner, and make you look healthier. It's too bad that it's not healthy for your skin, not at all.

According to a very disturbing, new study by the UK Medical Journal Lancet Oncology - tanning beds are as deadly as arsenic and mustard gas. Now that's just SCARY!

Obviously this is our blog, and we're biased but Air-Tan gives you the best of both worlds! You can still have that healthy glow and do not have to worry about any of the UV damage. Another great thing about Air-Tan is it only takes one session to get that tanned look. And, since it's custom applied you can control the color you're looking for. Air-Tan saves your skin, your time, and your money!

There are many articles out about this new study and one of my favorites is covered in Houston channel 39.

The rich and the famous have been spray tanning since around 1998 and Air-Tan has been open since July of 2003. We put Indianapolis on the Map for fabulous looking tans minus the sun spots, wrinkles, or cancer. Don't be fooled by imitations, Air-Tanning our clients is all we do and we do it well.
